I have been piloting the Dolly for 25 years. I cannot think of a better occupation. Early on, I proudly served in the United States Air Force and was involved with two other businesses. Originally from the state of Wisconsin and yes, a Green Bay Packer fan! I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and listening to their comments. I am very pleased with our crew and take great pride in managing operations. The comments I receive about our cruise and crew members are very rewarding. Our crew work very hard on representing the Dolly well and do so very effectively. There are three things that inspire me when piloting the Dolly. My passion is to exceed my passengers’ expectations and to have them express it to me. Secondly, I am still awestruck with the rugged beauty of the rocks, water and sky. Can it get more magnificent than to have desert bighorn sheep climbing a rock cliff with eagles soaring overhead? Come take a cruise, I would very much like to meet you.

I have been working the business for over 25 years. I am originally from Eau Claire Wisconsin and have lived in Arizona for 31 years. I have been involved in many civic organizations in the area and have enjoyed marketing the Dolly in the Valley of the Sun and the state of Arizona. I am proud of the service and experience we have brought to many people throughout the years. I have always said it’s a tough job but somebody has to do it! It is so rewarding to see people enjoying themselves and telling us what a wonderful experience the Dolly is.

The scenery and the wildlife are really great and I enjoy that the most, but additionally, seeing how the passengers enjoy themselves spending quality time with their families and friends is really special. I also like the challenge perfecting the narration and being accurate. The other great thing about my job is my co-workers; they are very professional.
It is motivating to see clearly how Jeff has worked so hard on the boat and the systems. The fact that management really cares about the condition and safety of the boat motivates me to follow suit and do my best to do what I can to make sure every passenger has a great trip.
The non-economic reward that I receive in the performance of my duties is being part of a program that people really do enjoy although the paycheck is always nice. From the beautiful drive up to the lake and the cruise, I hear every day what a great day the passengers are having. It is really something that most people do not get to see very often and I get to see it every day.

I have been a crew member on the Dolly for eight years. I grew up in Wisconsin, and have lived in Arizona since 2001. I wear many hats on the Dolly. Most of what I do everyday involves customer service, which is what I love to do and where I do my best work. I love working with people, and ask anyone who knows me, I can talk all day! It’s very rewarding to turn around someone’s day or make someone smile. My day consists of many small tasks to help insure the Dolly runs smoothly, from ordering supplies, selling tickets, making drinks and cleaning up at the end of the day. Occasionally I’ll even drive the boat for a few minutes if the captain needs me to. I love that every day is different. I see something new in the beautiful scenery; I meet new people and learn something new every day.

I have worked for the Dolly for three years now. I am a native to Arizona, born and raised in Mesa. I am a crew member and I have various duties. I’ve lived in Arizona my entire life, and since working on the Dolly, I now truly understand how magnificent and beautiful the state really is. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I now can share all the knowledge that I have acquired with people from all over the world.

I am originally from Ohio but have spent most of my time in Colorado. My wife Nancy and I have been full time travelers for four years. We spend the winter in Apache Junction and travel throughout the country in the summer with our tow English cocker spaniels, Camille and Cody. I enjoy fly-fishing, tying my own flies, kayaking and hiking. In the fall, I volunteer on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in New Mexico as a Docent. I like working with my hands and enjoy all the maintenance duties in the Dolly, but my passion is working with people. I look at my job as enhancing the experience of the passengers on the boat and the visitors to the area. I look forward to the smiles and the oohs and ahhs of the passengers of all ages on each cruise.
